Last night, Vancouver's fashionable compression sock company Dr. Segal's struck a deal with CBC Dragon, David 'The Wealthy Barber' Chilton, on the hit TV series Dragons' Den. The Segal family entered the den asking $300,000 for 15%, but Chilton, recognizing the massive growth potential in the $2 billion compression sock industry, doubled their valuation with an offer of $300,000 for 7.5%, giving them a $4 million valuation.

People are quickly starting to recognize the amazing health benefits around compression socks for young people as a preventative method for unwanted spider veins and symptoms of venous disease. Traditionally, compression socks have been perceived to be only effective for the elderly, but in fact, anyone who sits or stands for long periods of time can benefit from wearing compression socks.

"When we started Dr. Segal's Compression Socks 3 years ago, there was nothing exciting or fashionable available on the market," says Dr. Segal's President Randi Segal. "Now our fabulous compression socks bring FAST, EFFECTIVE RELIEF to the millions of people who suffer from tired, achy, swollen legs every day."

Dr. Segal's compression socks are highly desirable among travelers, mothers-to-be and everyday people who sit or stand for long periods. They are currently available in over 900 locations across Canada, including major retailers such as London Drugs, Shoppers Drug Mart, Pharmasave, Peoples Drug Mart and IDA Guardian Drugs.

Dr. Segal's President Randi Segal would love to talk to you about her business and her families experience pitching on the show. Please feel free to contact Randi to set up an interview or to receive a sample of Dr. Segal's Compression Socks in advance of their appearance.
