RYE BROOK, NY--(Marketwired - Sep 23, 2014) - CBLPath, a Sonic Healthcare USA laboratory, is pleased to announce that it has launched a new satellite laboratory facility located in Orlando, Florida. This new facility, licensed by CLIA and Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), will provide histology testing services to better serve local clients and pathologists.
CBLPath's primary laboratory is located in Rye Brook, New York. This state-of-the-art facility is a leading reference laboratory that provides anatomic pathology and esoteric molecular testing. The new Orlando laboratory will focus on providing histology services to the local market and the New York laboratory will complement those services with more specialized testing. The Orlando lab will also offer technical-only services to local pathologists.
The new CBLPath facility will also partner with its Sonic Healthcare USA sister lab in Orlando, Clinical Pathology Laboratories Southeast (CPLSE). CPLSE delivers state-of-the-art diagnostic testing and professional interpretive services to regional physicians and hospitals with a comprehensive test menu including molecular diagnostics. CPLSE also provides specialty services for physicians, such as test interpretation and selection services to optimize test utilization. The combined anatomic pathology and clinical testing services of the two labs will provide a comprehensive offering to physicians in the Southeast.
Kirit Patel, MD will serve as the Medical Director of the Orlando laboratory. Dr. Patel is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Dr. Patel also serves as Medical Director for CPLSE facilities in Georgia and Florida.
