CBp Carbon Industries Acquires Stake in Leading Pyrolysis Firm and Strengthens Management

NEW YORK, NEW YORK--(Marketwire - June 17, 2008) - CBp Carbon Industries Inc. ("CBp" or "the Company") (OTCBB:CBPJ) is pleased to announce that, as part of a strategic alliance, it has purchased a 12% interest in Terragon Environmental Technologies Inc. ("Terragon") (www.terragon.net/contact.html), believed to be the world's leading company in pyrolysis technology and research. Terragon develops, manufactures and sells pyrolysis solutions for waste and resource processing to governments, militaries and private industry. Terragon has provided pyrolysis processing as a solution to waste management for the US military's aircraft carriers and other institutions with waste processing problems. This strategic partnership (both by investment and by services contract) gives the Company access to one of the world's best pyrolysis engineering teams and tested management in this field.

Concurrent with the investment in Terragon, the Company has been continuing with its program to expand its technical and management expertise. Dr. Peter Tsantrizos, President and CEO of Terragon, has been engaged as Senior V-P of Technical Operations and COO under a five year agreement. Dr. Tsantrizos will have primary responsibility for the development of plants and operations in Europe and the USA. Dr. Tsantrizos received his Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from McGill University in 1988, and lectured at McGill for the following decade. For the last 20 years he has engaged in commercial enterprises such as leading the Advanced Materials Program at Noranda Technology Centre, founding of PyroGenesis Inc. in 1991 (which grew to employ over 100 people under Dr. Tsantrizos leadership) and founding of Terragon in 2004. Dr. Tsantrizos has been developing and commercializing advanced environmental and materials technologies since 1978. Dr. Tsantrizos has 18 patents and over 50 publications, most related to waste treatment technologies. Examples of technologies developed and commercialized by Dr. Tsantrizos include: (i) the Plasma Arc Waste Destruction System (PAWDS), which is currently the most compact and efficient technology for the treatment of waste on board large cruise ships and aircraft carriers; (ii) the Plasma Atomization process used to produce the world's highest quality titanium powders for biomedical applications; (iii) numerous plasma sprayed protective coatings used in the mining and pulp & paper industries, and (iv) the Micro Auto Gasification System (MAGS), which is the worlds first compact waste gasification appliance, enabling people to treat the waste they generate locally and eliminate waste transfer.

CBp's CEO, Mr. Novak, stated, "We are very pleased to welcome Mr. Tsantrizos to our team and believe that he is a key addition to building a world class management group as the Company accelerates its plans to build commercial plants around the world."

About CBp Carbon Industries Inc.

CBp Carbon Industries Inc. is a global company that develops and commercializes its advanced technologies that enrich the environment, the countries and communities in which we operate, and our shareholders. Its primary focus is tire recycling with its patented technology which permits 100% recycling of tires and scrap rubber into commercially viable marketable components of steel, oil and CBp Green Carbon which is a tested substitute for replacement of carbon black in tire and rubber manufacturing.

Since 2006, European Union directives have banned scrap tires, shredded tires and tire residues from being landfilled and stockpiled. An EU scientific team, working with the European Union Cooperative Research Recycle Tire (CRAFT) project, selected CBp Carbon Industries technology as the "best available technology" for meeting CRAFT's recycling objectives.
