CBS 3 and CW Philly Staff 'Celebrate the Season' With Hour-Long Special

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - December 14, 2007) - From the Nutcracker to the Holiday Pops -- everyone in the Delaware Valley has a favorite seasonal celebration. CBS 3 and The CW Philly 57 are teaming up to showcase them all in an hour-long special celebrating this special time of the year. "Celebrate The Season" debuts this Tuesday, December 18, 7-8 p.m. on CBS 3. The program will be repeated Saturday, December 22, 7-8 p.m. and Sunday, December 23, 4-5 p.m. on The CW Philly and air Christmas Day, 9-10 a.m. on CBS 3.

Anchors Larry Mendte and Alycia Lane will host the special along with members of the Eyewitness News and CW Philly 57 family. The hour will feature some traditional and not-so-traditional forms of holiday cheer that can be found locally along with members of the Eyewitness News team joining Sports Director Beasley Reece at the piano for a family sing-along.

Included are: Anchor Liz Keptner's tour of the National Christmas Center in Lancaster County; anchor Pat Ciarrocchi's look at the Pennsylvania Ballet's revamped Nutcracker and Traffic master Bob Kelly taking on a master gift wrapper.

Also, Anchor Chris May talks to Jim Curtis of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania who delights area kids each season with his home light display that includes a live Santa on site. Meteorologist Kathy Orr explores Storybook Land in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey; CW Anchor Natasha Brown looks at the tradition of holiday cards, and Anchor Angela Russell gets the best assignment -- checking out Termini Brothers Bakery and Shane's Candy Store for the best of holiday sweets.

The special will also include a look at Longwood Gardens' spectacular holiday display, Bethlehem. Pennsylvania's Chriskindlemart, Peter Nero and the Philly Pops Holiday Pops concert, the Macy's holiday light show and Dickens' Village and many other Christmas and Hanukah celebrations across the region.
