PHILADELPHIA, PA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 2, 2005 -- CBS 3 (KYW-TV) is proud to once again bring area viewers the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade live, Sunday, March 13, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

CBS 3 Anchor Larry Mendte and Meteorologist Kathy Orr will host the parade coverage from the reviewing stands on Logan Circle along with Tommy Moffit, color commentator. Anchor Amy Caples and Traffic Reporter Bob Kelly will bring viewers the annual spectacle from the Parade route. Alycia Lane, Carol Erickson, Robin Mackintosh and Jim Donovan of the Eyewitness News team will participate in the Parade by riding in cars along the route. Eleven-year-old Timmy Kelly will kick off the Parade coverage with a special performance.

More than 150 units will also march in the Parade, including high school marching bands, Irish dancers, Irish cultural groups and various divisions of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

"We are delighted to announce an addition to our Parade coverage this year -- the first telecast ever of the Parade on St. Patrick's Day," says CBS 3 and UPN 57 President and General Manager Peter Dunn. "The Parade will be rebroadcast on Thursday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on UPN 57 (WPSG-TV)." Dunn adds, "For me and the entire CBS 3/UPN 57 staff, working with the Parade staff has been a great experience."

"We are excited that our partnership with CBS 3 and UPN 57 will help bring our Parade to an even larger audience with two telecasts this year," adds Michael J. Bradley, Jr., the Parade Director.

This year's Parade theme is "Saint Patrick, Make Us A Eucharistic People." The Grand Marshall of the Parade is Vince Gallagher, president of The Commodore Barry Club, also known as the Irish Center, a meeting place for many Irish cultural groups.

The Parade Committee expects more than 500,000 spectators to line the streets along the new Parade route this year. The Parade will begin at Broad Street and Washington Avenue in South Philadelphia, proceed North on Broad to City Hall, go around City Hall on the East side, West on J.F.K. Boulevard to 16th Street, North on 16th Street to Benjamin Franklin Parkway, then West on the Parkway to Logan Circle.

The St. Patrick's Day Parade telecast is presented in part by Kildare's Irish Pubs, IBEW and Rosenberger's Green Tea.

The CBS 3 telecast of the St. Patrick's Day Parade is produced by the CBS 3 Programming Department in association with Producers Management Television (PMTV). Liz Naughton, whose credits include the Philadelphia Mummers Parade, will serve as executive producer.
