CCA: Canadian Design-Build Excellence Recognized

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 28, 2005) - The Canadian Design-Build Institute (CDBI) recognized excellence in Canada's design-build industry by presenting its 3rd Awards of Excellence on Friday (October 28, 2005) at CDBI's 2005 National Design-Build Conference held in Ottawa, ON.

The project award recipient was:

Design-Build Award of Excellence - The OPG Nuclear Support Building Project, Pickering, Ontario. Design-build team of McKay Cocker Construction Limited - Canadian Urban Limited - Architect, Archxes Design Inc., Owner, Ontario Power Generation Inc.

Second place was given to:

Second Place - 2 Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (2PPCLI), CFB Shilo, Manitoba. Joint Venture design-build team of Westeinde Construction Ltd. and Caspian Construction Inc., and Griffiths Rankin Cook Architects in charge of the design team, Owner, Department of National Defence.

Established in 2002, the CDBI Awards of Excellence are presented annually to recognize excellence in Canada's design-build industry and to acknowledge design-build teams whose projects contribute to the growth and stature of the design-build profession. Award recipients demonstrate the highest standards and principles in the design-build industry and the business community in pursuit of excellence.

Established in 1998, the Canadian Design-Build Institute is the national voice of Canadian design-build practitioners and is a Special Committee of the Canadian Construction Association (CCA).
