CED: Business Contact Event in the Kamouraska Region;
A Unique Event for Business People

LA POCATIERE, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - March 30, 2005) - The Honourable
Jacques Saada, Minister of Canada Economic Development and Minister
responsible for the Francophonie, and Mr. Gilles Michaud, President of
the Kamouraska Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC), are
proud to announce the organization of a Business Contact event in the
Kamouraska region on April 22 at College Sainte-Anne-de-La-Pocatiere.

Specially designed for entrepreneurs, this unique event will focus on
the economic realities of the Lower St. Lawrence, and specifically of
the Kamouraska, Riviere-du-Loup, Temiscouata, Basques, Montmagny and
L'Islet regions.

Business Contact is intended to inform promoters of business prospects
and, by means of conferences and meetings with experts from various
federal departments, provide them with strategic business development
information and innovative solutions in such areas as innovation, market
globalization, export, competitiveness, technology transfer, development
of the agri-food sector, creation of value-added lumber products and
community development.

"Business Contact is unique in that its conferences, seminars,
privileged contact-building and themes are specifically tailored to the
needs and realities of the region. Through the various activities
offered, entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to learn more about the
main trends and challenges facing SME leaders, especially in terms of
innovation, and to talk to representatives of key Government of Canada
departments and agencies. In addition to showcasing the programs and
services they offer, these representatives will help guide entrepreneurs
toward the resources best capable of meeting their needs", explained
Minister Saada.

"This event is an ideal forum for discussing various strategic issues
relating to market development, forging new business contacts and
obtaining personalized advice and guidance. This is a valuable business
event entrepreneurs won't want to miss," added CFDC President Gilles
Michaud.

host organization, at (418) 856-3482, or visit the Canada Economic
Development web site at www.dec-ced.gc.ca/.
