Cedar Point Communications, Big River Telephone Announce Hosted Advanced Communications Solutions on Safari C3

DERRY, NH--(Marketwire - July 15, 2010) -  Cedar Point Communications, a worldwide leader in integrated Voice over IP (VoIP) switching technologies for service providers, and Big River Telephone Company, a full-service telephone provider serving the United States, today announced that Big River Telephone is delivering wholesale communication services to service providers nationwide using Cedar Point solutions.

Big River Telephone is deploying Cedar Point's SAFARI C3 Multimedia Switching System as part of a comprehensive communications offering that enables small to midsize service providers to rapidly generate new residential and business services revenues without increasing overhead. At the same time, Big River Telephone will be able to leverage core capabilities of SAFARI C3 to expedite evolution to the new network architectures, which include PacketCable 2.0 and IMS that will define the next generation of communications services.

"Small and medium sized operators understand the financial value of communications services, but often find it challenging to assemble the resources and expertise necessary to deliver a high-quality product," said Kevin Cantwell, President of Big River Telephone. "By working together with Cedar Point, we are combining our own in-house expertise and the simplicity, reliability and cost-effectiveness of SAFARI C3 to enable operators to quickly deploy services that are superior to those of incumbent providers."

"The ability of operators to incorporate communication services in bundles has emerged as a real driver of growth for the telecommunications industry," said George Kassas, executive vice president, global sales and business development for Cedar Point Communications. "For small and midsized operators who still have not tapped that market, Big River Telephone offers them the experience, customer care expertise, seamless provisioning and billing integration, technical capabilities and the innovative approach that optimizes the value of SAFARI C3's rich feature set."

Using Big River Telephone Company's Technology Based Business Process Outsource (TPO) platform, including 24x7 support, service provider partners can offer a branded triple-play bundle of voice, video and data. Big River provides market leading back-office infrastructure, including sophisticated billing systems network connectivity for the voice traffic, hosted IP services, support for operations and marketing, and technical support to deliver a fully operational communications service. Big River also provides competitive products such as SIP Trunking, Teleconferencing, vFax, Find Me Follow Me and Sim Ring to help partners win in the marketplace.

Cedar Point's innovative approach to telephony services has driven the deployment of more than six and a half million voice lines for customers in the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe. Through its flagship products -- the SafariFusion Application Platform and the SAFARI C3 Multimedia Switching System -- the company supports residential and business services by a diverse customer base that includes Cable System Operators, CLECs, Wireless Operators and Universities.
