Cedar Point Taps Helmut Oehl as VP of Sales for Major Accounts in EMEA

Industry Veteran, With Strong Technical Background From Nortel, to Join EMEA Team

DERRY, NH and MEERSBURG, GERMANY--(Marketwire - September 8, 2009) - Cedar Point Communications, a worldwide leader in integrated Voice over IP (VoIP) switching technologies for service providers, announced today that Helmut Oehl has been named as VP of Sales for Major Accounts in EMEA.

In his role as vice president of major account sales, Oehl will be leading all sales activities for major accounts throughout EMEA. In addition to sales, Oehl will be responsible for account management, support and deployment of the SAFARI C3.

Oehl comes to Cedar Point with over 35 years of systems design, research and development, solution and network engineering, and sales experience with the last 14 years spent in various network solution architecture, product management, business development, and sales roles with Nortel, GmbH. In his most recent role as chief architect for technical solution design and lead business development manager for Nortel's quad-play solutions organization that included VoIP and multimedia products, Oehl was responsible for and instrumental in helping to secure new business from some of the largest cable operators in EMEA.

Oehl holds a degree in Electronics from Staatlichen Fachschule fuer Technik Villingen-Schwenningen in Germany.

Cedar Point has shipped more than five million SAFARI C3 lines to customers in the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe. SAFARI C3 supports up to 250,000 lines of capacity in less than a cubic meter of space, incorporating all of the components that make up the voice switching infrastructure. It is being deployed for residential and business services by a diverse customer base that includes Cable System Operators, CLECs, Wireless Operators and Universities.
