Ceelox Announces Biometric Access to OpenID

TAMPA, FL--(Marketwire - March 7, 2011) - Ceelox, Inc. (OTCBB: CELO) announced today that the company has created a biometric login solution for OpenID using Ceelox ID Online®, a server-based biometric software application, which enables users to securely authenticate their identity for access to internet sites or networks without the threat of replay attack.

Today, the majority of all internet users access websites that are currently protected by user name and password. These sites include: online banking, investment sites, internet auction sites, and social networking sites. Unfortunately, these sites are the primary target for hackers who steal your username and password to gain access resulting in identity theft, financial loss, etc. Ceelox ID Online® changes that by adding a biometric layer of security using your unique fingerprint.

OpenID allows a user to use an existing account to conveniently sign in to thousands of websites, without needing to create new passwords. With OpenID, the user controls how much of that information is shared with the websites they visit; so you don't need to worry about an unscrupulous or insecure website compromising your identity. The OpenID protocol does not mandate a specific means by which to authenticate users, allowing for approaches ranging from the common, such as passwords, to the secure, such as biometrics.

OpenID is rapidly gaining adoption on the web, with over one billion OpenID enabled user accounts and over 50,000 websites accepting OpenID for logins. Several large organizations either issue or accept OpenIDs, including Google, Facebook, Yahoo!, Microsoft, AOL, MySpace, Sears, Universal Music Group, France Telecom, Novell, Sun, Telecom Italia, and many more. "By using our biometrics to authenticate and login to OpenID, Ceelox ID Online® provides the highest security available today within the Internet for enterprise or consumer protection. This same product solution can be used to provide secure access to finances, content, and private information," states Gerry Euston, CEO, Ceelox.
