Celebrate Los Angeles' Culture and Diversity at the L.A. County Fair

POMONA, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 15, 2011) - The L.A. County Fair celebrates the diverse culture of Los Angeles and its local communities with Community Days and Festivals every day of the Fair. With daily promotions, Angelenos can enjoy the abundance of exhibits, rides, food, shopping and more, at an affordable price for the whole family, while embracing a variety of heritages and traditions.

Sept. 16-18, guests can visit the Basque Village and enjoy French gateau, éclairs and Napoleons and Spanish-influenced tapas and paella plates and Flamenco entertainment. Additionally, guests can enjoy authentic shopping from the three Basque cultural influences and art from renowned French artist Erwin Dazelle.

Feeling lucky? Stop by Sept. 23-25 and celebrate the luck of the Irish at the Celtic Village. Lively entertainment includes sheep-herding demos, traditional and contemporary bands, storytellers, clog and traditional step dancing and more. The colorful marketplace boasts authentic and imported items from Ireland and traditional foods such as Irish stew, bangers and corned beef sandwiches. You can even take your photo with a real Leprechaun!

Honor Asian culture as the vibrant street and night markets come to life during the L.A. County Fair's Asian Festival, Oct. 2-3. Bringing a genuine Asian shopping experience and authentic cuisine, entertainment includes the America's Best Dance Crew winner We Are Heroes and American Idol finalist Andrew Garcia.

Local communities are honored daily where residents from Diamond Bar, Montclair, San Dimas, La Verne, Chino Hills, Walnut, West Covina, Covina, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Claremont, Azusa and Ontario can meet-and-greet with city politicians and businesses, and recognize their community heroes in an award ceremony and parade.
