Celebrate Mother's Day at the Mothers for Food Benefit Concert at the Rhythm Room

Phoenix VIP Events Teams up With Hans Olson, Chicks With Picks, St. Mary's Food Bank and Bob Corritore to Promote This Special Event

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - May 4, 2009) - Phoenix VIP Events announced today that it is working with the "Mothers For Food" Mother's Day Benefit Concert to be held on Sunday, May 10th from 6-11 PM. The event is co-produced by Chicks With Picks and "Blues Sensation" Hans Olson and will be held at Bob Corritore's legendary Rhythm Room.

The benefit concert features an all-female lineup headlined by special guest Jessi Colter. Also performing is Penny Anty, Nina Curri, Haven James, Susan L & Company, Rhonda Lester, Kathy Mabry, Tammy Patrick, Sydney Sprague and The Stevenson Sisters. Admission is 3 cans of food, 3 personal hygiene products, 3 cleaning products or $5, proceeds going to St. Mary's Food Bank.

Jessi Colter is a singer-songwriter with crossover country and pop hits, including her smash single, "I'm Not Lisa." She has collaborated with her husband Waylon Jennings and other top country stars on many successful recordings.

St. Mary's Food Bank's mission is to efficiently gather and distribute food to sites that serve the hungry. For this event they need the following products: Canned tuna, salmon, chicken and ham. Canned soup, stew and chili. Canned fruits and vegetables. Canned and packaged beans. Rice, pasta, macaroni and cheese. Peanut butter. Juice in cans or plastic containers. Canned baby food (no jars). Canned evaporated skim milk. Hot and cold cereals. Personal hygiene articles and home cleaning products.

"This is our third event to benefit St. Mary's Food Bank," said Hans Olson, who is also on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame. "We are grateful to Jessi Colter and the other female talent that are coming out on Mother's Day to support this cause."

The Rhythm Room is owned by renowned harmonica player Bob Corritore. He is also the host of the 91.5 FM KJZZ "Those Low Down Blues" Sundays 6-11pm. The venue is Phoenix's premier Roots and Blues Concert forum that supports events that benefit the community at large as well as local musicians.
