Celebrated Comedian Rita Rudner to Headline at The Venetian Showroom

Tickets Now On Sale

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - January 3, 2011) - Multi-award-winning comedian, actress, writer and bestselling author Rita Rudner brings her acclaimed offbeat humor to The Venetian Showroom in 2011. Rudner, voted "Best Comedian in Las Vegas" by the Las Vegas Review-Journal eight years in a row, will move her decade of headlining on the Las Vegas Strip to the spectacular 742-seat Venetian showroom beginning on Saturday, Jan. 15. Show times are at 8:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and 6 p.m. on Saturdays.

"It's a fantastic opportunity I just couldn't resist," said Rita. "The Venetian and The Palazzo are sensational properties and I'm thrilled to be appearing there. I don't have to paint myself blue, do I? Or row a gondola?"

Tickets are now on sale. Her hugely popular VIP ticket, which includes a pre-show photo with Rita as well as prime seating, will continue to be offered, but an extra ingredient has been added just for The Venetian.

"The VIP tickets and the Premiere tickets will include a free Rita Rudner ring," Rita announced. "I think mine is the first show to offer complimentary jewelry. Take that, Cher."

"We're excited to welcome Rita to The Venetian as a headlining act," said Chris Yancey, executive director of entertainment for The Venetian and Palazzo. "Her success in Las Vegas is a testament to her unique style of humor and ability to connect with audiences."

Rita transitioned from Broadway dancer to stand-up comedian in her early twenties. After performing all over the world, she decided to make Las Vegas her permanent base in 2000. She has since become the longest-running solo comedy show in Las Vegas history. A bestselling author, Rita has written four books and collaborates with her writer/producer husband Martin Bergman, developing and selling movie and television scripts in Hollywood. They recently completed a movie called "Thanks," which premieres at the Palm Springs Film Festival in January 2011.

Ticket prices start at $53.90 for General Admission, $75.90 for Premiere Seating and $108.90 for VIP Seating inclusive of tax and handling fees. To purchase tickets visit www.venetian.com, call 702.414.9000, or visit any Venetian or Palazzo Box Office.
