Celebrating Arts and Culture at Summerside Arts Showcase

Government of Canada provides funding to Wyatt Heritage Properties

SUMMERSIDE, PRINCE-EDWARD ISLAND--(Marketwired - June 9, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans and Member of Parliament (Egmont), on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $32,800 in funding to Wyatt Heritage Properties.

This funding, provided under the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program, will allow Wyatt Heritage Properties to host the 8th edition of the Celebrate Culture Summerside Arts Showcase - Arts in Motion, which will take place in Summerside from July 20 to August 7, 2015.

  • Wyatt Heritage Properties is a non-profit organization that tries to engage individuals and enhance their understanding of the arts and culture in their communities.
  • The Celebrate Culture Summerside Arts Showcase - Arts in Motion will include performing arts, literary arts, and various exhibits promoting the work of 420 artists and performers.
  • One of the highlights of this year's festival will be The Spirit of Chautauqua. Throughout the 1920s, the Chautauqua Circuit granted locals of Summerside the opportunity to take part in cultural activities that were otherwise inaccessible.
