Government of Canada provides funding for 13 organizations


BRIDGEWATER, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwired - June 18, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

Gerald Keddy, Member of Parliament (South Shore-St. Margaret's), on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced funding of $30,620 for 13 organizations in Nova Scotia through the Celebrate Canada Program.

This funding will support these organizations in hosting events in Nova Scotia's South Shore region. The events include fireworks, parades, live entertainment, flag-raising ceremonies, and Aboriginal and ethnocultural experiences.

  • The Department of Canadian Heritage provides financial support for activities organized during the 11-day Celebrate Canada period, which includes National Aboriginal Day on June 21, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day on June 24, Canadian Multiculturalism Day on June 27 and Canada Day on July 1.
