Celebrating Excellence in Diversity: Pacific Southwest Council to Honor Minority Owned Businesses at Annual Awards Gala

SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwired - March 22, 2016) - The Pacific Southwest Minority Supplier Development Council 22nd Annual Awards Gala rewards the achievements of minority-owned firms and the corporations who support diversity in business by actively seeking business relationships with minority business enterprises.

The Council's Awards Gala takes place May 6, 2016 at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz. The reception and business exchange begins at 5 p.m. with the awards presentation and dinner immediately following. A silent auction, ongoing throughout the evening, benefits the Council's development and training programs for certified minority business enterprises.

The Council presents eight awards each year to recognize outstanding minority business leadership in our community. The awards include: four MBE Supplier of the Year Awards (based upon business size), the MBE Advocate of the Year Award, the Corporate Advocate of the Year Award, the Corporation of the Year Award and the Chairman's Award.

"The Scott Business Group was very excited and proud to be awarded the Supplier of the Year Award by the Pacific Southwest Council last year. The Council has been a key factor in the success of our business. The relationships we've built as a result of their networking events, being engaged in their committees and training provide us the tools to succeed," said Millie Gonzalez-Scott, Chief Operating Officer of Scott Business Group.

Performing at this year's gala is beloved Arizona blues musician Hans Olson. A veteran with over 45 years in the music industry, Olson was inducted into the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame in 1996 and is the current president of the Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame.

The Council is seeking sponsorship and donations for this year's Gala. Please contact the Council at 602-495-9950 for more information.
