Government of Canada supports the Shores of Erie International Wine Festival


AMHERSTBURG, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Aug. 28, 2014) - Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada is providing $62,600 under the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program to support the 10th edition of the Shores of Erie International Wine Festival, which celebrates the heritage of wine growing in the Erie region of Ontario.

The Honourable Peter Van Loan, Leader for the Government in the House of Commons and Member of Parliament (York-Simcoe), made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

Quick Facts

  • This year's festival will take place from September 4 to 7 and will include musical performances, dance demonstrations, arts and craft displays, heritage tours, and re-enactments by local artists, artisans and heritage performers.
  • The festival takes place along the banks of the Detroit River at the Fort Malden National Historic.
