Celeste Updates Exploration Activities

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Sept. 24, 2009) - Celeste Copper Corporation (TSX VENTURE:C) ("Celeste" or the "Corporation") is pleased to provide an update on exploration activities on its mineral properties located in the Cabeza de Vaca mineral district, approximately 30 kilometres East of Copiapo, Chile.

Mr. Elmer Stewart, President and CEO of Celeste stated, "Our exploration effort to date has identified several geophysical targets that are currently being tested by diamond drilling. The correlation of the weak to moderate Induced Polarization and Resistivity anomalies with widespread low-grade copper-silver mineralization on the Celeste I-III and Manto Medio concessions warrants a more systematic geophysical survey to outline the limits of the anomalies and search for stronger Induced Polarization and Resisitvity anomalies."

The areas of widespread anomalous Induced Polarization, (see news release dated September 10, 2009) resistivity and magnetic susceptibility responses in the area around the Negrita Mineral Concessions are currently being tested by a small (4 holes) diamond drilling program. The preliminary results from a 10 kilometre geophysical survey over the Celeste I-III concessions and the Manto Medio concession has identified several weak to moderate Induced Polarization and Resistivity anomalies. These anomalies occur in the same areas where widespread low-grade copper-silver mineralization was outlined by reverse circulation drilling in the second quarter of 2009. The wide spaced nature of the geophysical lines precludes a more precise interpretation of the anomalies. A more systematic geophysical survey in this area is required to properly evaluate the significance of these anomalies.

Elmer B. Stewart, MSc. P. Geol., President of Celeste, is the Corporation's nominated Qualified Person pursuant to National Instrument #43-101, Standards for Disclosure for Mineral Projects, has reviewed the technical information disclosed in this news release.
