Cellcontrol Launches DriveUP: the Free App That Scores and Improves Driving

The New App for iPhone Monitors Driving Habits and Phone Use Behind the Wheel, and Can Potentially Save Users Money on Car Insurance

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - January 06, 2016) - From the floor of the Consumer Electronics Show, Cellcontrol, the world leader in technology to stop distracted driving and solutions that promote safe driving, announced today the official release of the new app, DriveUP, for iPhone. The free app gives users a comprehensive look into their driving ability and mobile distraction level behind the wheel, combined with coaching to make users better drivers.

"We started our company to keep people safer behind the wheel, while at the same time, helping them become better drivers," said Cellcontrol CEO Robert Guba. "The first step in getting better is identifying any potential issues, and we're proud to be offer users a free look into their driving behavior," said Guba. "The exciting thing is we're able to use that information to coach them on how to become better while potentially saving money on their car insurance in the process," he said.

DriveUP automatically identifies the driver and the passengers in the vehicle and gives scores based on braking, speed, cornering, aggressive driving, mobile phone use while driving, and more. Along with their score, DriveUP coaches users with tips on how they can improve their driving. They can then use these scores for potential savings on their car insurance.

DriveUP is currently available for Apple devices running iOS 6 and higher; an Android version is expected by the end of Q1 2016. For more information, visit www.mydriveup.com or www.cellcontrol.com.
