CEMATRIX Corporation Announces Appointment of New C.E.O.

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - May 4, 2007) - CEMATRIX Corporation (TSX VENTURE:CVX) (the "Corporation") is pleased to announce that it reached agreement with David Pickrell, P.Eng of, Vancouver, British Columbia, to join the Corporation as President and Chief Executive Officer as of June 1, 2007.

Mr. Pickrell is an Alberta born Professional Engineer with over 20 years of experience in the Construction Materials Industry. He has held a number of senior management positions both in USA and Canada where he was responsible for large groups of employees in complex operations. He started his career in the mid 80's with SouthDown Cement and moved to Lafarge shortly thereafter where he occupied various operations roles in three different manufacturing areas. For the last 4 years he has held the position of Manager of the Lafarge Richmond B.C. Manufacturing Plant which is considered to be the most modern Cement Manufacturing Facility in Canada.

Mr Pickrell has a proven track record of leadership and performance improvements. Under his leadership and with his extensive operations management experience, CEMATRIX Corporation will be well positioned to move on to the next level of performance in delivering the highest quality of goods and services to its customers and value to its shareholders.

Effective June 1, 2007 Mr. Pickrell will replace Mr. Jeff Kendrick in the role of President and Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Kendrick will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Boychuk will resign from the position of Chief Financial Officer at that time.

CEMATRIX is an Alberta corporation with its head office in Calgary, Alberta. The Corporation, through its wholly owned subsidiary, is a manufacturer and supplier of technologically advanced cellular concrete products with applications in a variety of markets, including oil and gas construction and infrastructure construction.
