Centennial Communications Assists Hurricane Victims and Supports Local Communities

WALL, NJ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 12, 2005 -- With restoration and repair efforts underway in Hurricane Katrina's aftermath, Centennial Communications Corp. (NASDAQ: CYCL) announced several important steps it has taken to support its customers, employees, disaster recovery organizations and affected local communities.

Centennial's wireless network was primarily impacted by commercial power outages and disrupted interconnection between cell sites and landline switching centers in southwestern Mississippi (Brookhaven and Macomb) and Hammond, Louisiana. The Company was able to provide critical communications for disaster recovery efforts and families reaching out to loved ones by employing permanently sited backup power generators, portable power generators relocated from its Midwest markets and temporary microwave connections to supplement and replace disrupted interconnection to cell sites. 331 cell sites in Centennial's Southeast market are fully operational, with six remaining cell sites to be operational shortly.

In addition, the Centennial Communications disaster relief effort includes the following:

--  Emergency delivery of wireless service to a number of disaster
    recovery organizations including The Red Cross, the U.S. Coast Guard and
    local law enforcement
--  Providing communications support to emergency management and 911 call
    centers
--  Offering free wireless service at local evacuation shelters and
    Centennial stores for evacuees to contact loved ones
--  Centennial employees are volunteering their time for numerous shelters
    and fund raising activities
--  Accelerated recruiting timeline for Holiday sales positions to help
    provide meaningful employment for displaced residents during the coming
