Center for Diagnostic Imaging Is Indiana's First Healthcare Provider to Bring Wide-Bore 3T MRI to the Outpatient Setting

INDIANAPOLIS, IN--(Marketwired - Jun 10, 2014) - Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI) now offers patients outpatient access to a new MAGNETOM Skyra® 3T wide-bore MRI from Siemens Healthcare. As the widest 3T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) available, the scanner provides more room for claustrophobic or large/broad-shoulder patients in need of high-field imaging. CDI is the first provider in Indiana to bring this ultra-high-field technology into the outpatient setting.

The new 3T MRI scanner's large 70 cm open bore -- the widest available today -- along with its short length (173 cm) can help reduce patients' anxiety and put them at ease. In the past, MRIs have not always been comfortable for certain patient groups, including the elderly, obese (up to 550 pounds) or those who experience claustrophobia.
