Centerra Gold Confirms Normal Operations at its Kumtor Mine

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 3, 2005) - Centerra Gold Inc. (TSX:CG) today confirmed that there is now unrestricted access to and from its Kumtor mine, in the Kyrgyz Republic, following the termination of an illegal roadblock.

Transportation of employees and supplies to and from the mine has resumed. Operations at Kumtor have not been affected and remain normal.
