Cento Miglia Wins Big!

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 17, 2008) - The second edition of the Cento Miglia car rally to benefit the Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation, the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation and other charitable initiatives of the FCCI was held on July 5. This year, the organizers raised $450,000 in donations.a 22% increase over the 2007 edition.

"We're extremely happy with the success of this event, which has already become a tradition for Montréal's Italian community," says Cento Miglia co-chair Michael Mazzaferro. "We've raised $100,000 more than last year. That's a real achievement, and we're very proud of it."

Nearly 100 luxury vehicles invaded the Centre Leonardo da Vinci under a brilliant summer sun. The pleasant weather brought numerous onlookers out to check out the impressive parade of exotic cars. The rally started in the streets of Montreal, then headed off the island for a run through Montérégie, returning to finish on the Gilles Villeneuve Racetrack, where participants concluded the event with a cocktail and auction.

"We would like to thank the organizers, whose generous initiatives make it possible to help Sainte-Justine UHC provide medical treatment that's fully equal to the finest care anywhere in the world," said Anièle Lecoq, president and executive director of the Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation.

"A huge thank-you to everyone who contributed to the Cento Miglia fundraiser. The Montreal Children's Hospital is able to provide the best care for children thanks to the generosity of our many wonderful donors," said Louise Dery-Goldberg, President of the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation.
