Century Mining Clarifies Objective of West Plug Drill Program at Sigma-Lamaque Complex

BLAINE, WASHINGTON--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 3, 2005) - Century Mining Corporation (TSX VENTURE:CMM) is issuing this press release to clarify the Company's objective in its drill program on the West Plug at the Sigma-Lamaque Complex, as announced in the press release issued on August 2, 2005.

The objective of the drill program is to add substantially to the Resources of the West Plug and to move existing Resources into the Reserve category, subject to confirmation of a positive pre-feasibility study. The Company anticipates that ore from the West Plug will provide another source of open pit ore for the Sigma mill. The major part of the drill program is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of this year.
