Century Mining Corporation: Press Release

BLAINE, WASHINGTON--(CCNMatthews - July 15, 2005) - Further to the Company's news release dated July 11, 2005, Century Mining Corporation (TSX VENTURE:CMM) provides the following clarification about certain statements made.

The Company reported "the down-hole assay data show a typical log-normal distribution, with an estimated Sichel-t assay grade of 20.1 g/t." A Sichel-t assay is a good estimator of the average of log-normally distributed data and overcomes the tendency of the arithmetic mean to overestimate the average.

The Company reported that "the (Bedard) Dyke has the potential to host several hundred thousand tonnes of gold-bearing material." Although the Bedard Dyke remains completely untested down-dip and along strike to the west, similar dykes at the Sigma-Lamaque Complex have historically produced several hundred thousand tonnes of gold ore. The Bedard Dyke will be the target of further exploration. To date there has been insufficient exploration to define a mineral resource on the Bedard Dyke and it is uncertain if further exploration will result in discovery of a mineral resource on the dyke. There can be no assurance that the Bedard Dyke contains economic grades of ore.

The Company also reported "we believe that there is potential to delineate over one million ounces of gold in known extensions to existing structures." The NI 43-101 report filed on SEDAR on October 20, 2004 identified measured and indicated underground resources of 3.9 million tonnes at a grade of 5 g/t gold (630,000 ounces gold) with further inferred underground resources of 10 million tonnes at a grade of 5.26 g/t gold (1.7 million ounces gold). These resources are contained within extensions of previously mined structures.

The Company's Vice President of Exploration, Ross F. Burns, P.Geo., L.G. prepared the technical information contained in the news release dated July 11, 2005 and reviewed the press release in its entirety.

Margaret M. Kent, Chairman, President & C.E.O.
