Dave Sobel Recognized for Expertise in Virtualization and Dedication to SMB Communities

FAIRFAX, VA--(Marketwire - January 26, 2011) - Evolve Technologies, a company specializing in providing information technology solutions for small businesses in the DC Metro Area, today announced that its CEO, Dave Sobel, was named for the second year in a row as a Microsoft® Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for his work with virtualization technology and contributions to the Microsoft technology communities. In addition, Sobel has been named to the SMB PC Magazine and SMB Technology Network (SMBTN) Top 150 List of the most influential people in the small and medium business (SMB) channel.

The Microsoft MVP Award is an annual honor that has been recognizing leaders in IT since the early 1990s. The MVP award honors technology leaders worldwide who actively share their high quality, real-world expertise with Microsoft and its users. This is the second year that Sobel has received this distinction.

Ryan Bolz, Senior MVP Lead, Community and Online Support, Microsoft, stated, "Dave Sobel's continued contributions to the IT community through regular blog posts, industry pieces and speaking events, represent exactly what Microsoft seeks to recognize with the MVP Award. Microsoft is delighted to recognize him as an MVP for the second year in a row."

The SMB PC Magazine and SMB Technology Network (SMBTN) Top 150 list identifies the key players and most influential people in the SMB community. A comprehensive guide to important members of the SMB community that includes vendors, MVPs, authors and channel members, the Top 150 list is developed from a worldwide peer vote of over 900 ballots to recognize the channel's movers and shakers.

Harry Brelsford, CEO, SMB Nation, said, "SMB PC Magazine's Top 150 list is a 'who's who' of the most respected and influential members of the SMB channel and Dave's inclusion on this list demonstrates his strong presence and commitment to the community."

Sobel said, "I am honored to be recognized both by Microsoft and the SMB community. Microsoft's MVPs are a world-renowned community of experts and to be included in this esteemed group and recognized by my peers for my work within the SMB IT community is a great privilege."

About the Microsoft MVP Award Program
Microsoft began the MVP Awards as a way to recognize members of the general public who devoted their time and technical expertise to helping users in various online technical forums. Microsoft often gives MVPs early access to products, and typically solicits feedback and recommendations about product design, development and support. To receive MVP Award status, individuals are nominated by technical community members, current MVPs and Microsoft personnel. A panel that includes MVP team members and product group teams evaluates each nominee's technical expertise and voluntary community contributions in the past year and considers the quality, quantity and level of impact of the MVP nominee's contributions. Active MVPs receive the same level of scrutiny as other candidates each year. Over time, the program evolved, and awards are given to members of technical communities worldwide for their contributions to communities including third-party Web sites, user groups, blogs and wikis.
