Certeon Co-Founder to Speak at Interop New York on Panel "The Emergence of Virtualized Application Delivery Appliances"

BURLINGTON, MA--(Marketwire - October 13, 2010) -  Certeon, the application performance company, announced today that Co-founder Shawn Cooney will speak at Interop NY on October 20, 2010 on the panel, "The Emergence of Virtualized Application Delivery Appliances."

The panel will be part of the Application Delivery 2.0 Conference and Expo track, which will discuss the challenges associated with application delivery 1.0 and 2.0, as well as existing and emerging technologies for responding to those challenges. During the panel, Cooney will highlight the increasing need for second-generation, software-based WAN optimization solutions to meet the changing demands for application delivery and acceleration. In 2008, Certeon was the first provider to deliver cloud ready WAN optimization virtual appliances.

"Application delivery has historically been supported by large pieces of hardware, but with companies shifting to virtualized environments, such appliances hinder flexibility and cost-effectiveness," said Cooney. "These hardware vendors have ported their proprietary appliance to run as a VM as opposed to designing it specifically for virtualization. As a result, customers need to provision excess resources and the solution does not perform in comparison."

Interop is one of the leading business technology events and covers a range of topics from virtualization and networking to cloud computing. The event drives the adoption of technology, providing knowledge and insight to help IT and corporate decision-makers achieve business success.
