CF-188 Hornet fighter Aircraft on its Way to Peterson Air Force Base


PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, COLORADO--(Marketwired - March 8, 2016) - The Canadian Armed Forces are transporting a decommissioned CF-188 Hornet fighter aircraft from Canadian Forces Base Bagotville, Quebec to Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, from March 7 to March 14.

The Government of Canada has donated the CF-188 Hornet fighter aircraft to the United States Air Force Heritage Program. It has been loaned to the Peterson Air Force Base Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The transport vehicle will be travelling along the following routes while in Canada: Route 170, Route 175, Highway 20, Highway 30, Highway 401, Highway 402, and then crossing the Canada-U.S. Border in Sarnia, Ontario.

NORAD is the bi-national Canadian and American command that provides maritime warning, aerospace warning and aerospace control for Canada and the United States. The command has three subordinate regional headquarters: the Alaskan NORAD Region at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska; the Canadian NORAD Region at Canadian Forces Base Winnipeg, Manitoba; and the Continental NORAD Region at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida.
