CHA Announces Appointment of New President and CEO

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 11, 2007) - On behalf of the Board of the Canadian Healthcare Association (CHA), Lynda Cranston, Chair of CHA, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Pamela C. Fralick as the new President & CEO of the Canadian Healthcare Association, effective Feb. 4, 2008. Ms. Fralick is presently the Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, a position she has held for 7 years.

Previous work experience includes the Collegium of Work and Learning, and many years with federal government departments and agencies, including Health Canada, the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse, and the Canadian Forces in Europe and the Middle East. Ms. Fralick is presently the Chair of the Health Action Lobby (HEAL), a coalition of 36 national health associations and organizations.

As a volunteer, Pamela sits on the Policy and Research Advisory Committee of The Learning Partnership, is Chair of the Women's Committee for the International Triathlon Union, and just completed a 9-year term as Trustee and Chair of the Board at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). Ms Fralick, was Secretary-General on the Board of Triathlon Canada, the national sport federation.

Ms. Fralick is a triathlete and speaks three languages (English, French and German). Highly regarded by her colleagues, the Board of CHA looks forward to working with her on important Canadian health issues.
