ChaCha Promotes Shawn Schwegman to Chief Marketing Officer

INDIANAPOLIS, IN--(Marketwire - November 15, 2010) - ChaCha, the popular free service that has delivered quick, accurate answers to nearly a billion questions, today announced that it has promoted Shawn Schwegman to Chief Marketing Officer, a newly created position at the company. Mr. Schwegman joined ChaCha in June of this year as Vice President of Web Products.

Mr. Schwegman will be responsible for customer focus across all of ChaCha's products including chacha.com, mobile answers service, iPhone and smartphone applications, mobile web versions of ChaCha, and the company's marketing and brand strategies for both national and international markets.

Mr. Schwegman came to ChaCha from SAS Technology (Indianapolis), a consulting agency assisting large retailers and manufacturers with their online strategy. As CEO of SAS Technology, Shawn provided its clients with knowledge in areas spanning ecommerce, online marketing, social networking, and many other Web 2.0/3.0 technologies. From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Schwegman was Chief Marketing Officer for Vcommerce Corporation (Scottsdale, Arizona), an end-to-end ecommerce platform provider delivering solutions to companies such as Target, eToys, MTV, FYE, BJ's Wholesale Club, NewEgg, and many others.

Mr. Schwegman spent five years (2000 - 2005) with Overstock.com (Salt Lake City) serving last as Chief Technology Officer, and before that, as Vice President of Marketing, Director of Books, Music, Video, & Games and Director of Affiliate Marketing. During his time at Overstock, the company grew from a few million in sales to over $804 million in 2005. Overstock is now ranked as a top 10 Internet retail site.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Schwegman held management positions with Sycamore Software Development (Cincinnati), Fechheimer Brothers Co. (Cincinnati), KiZAN (Cincinnati), Inca Computer Company (Detroit) and PC Upgrades International, Inc. (Cincinnati).
