CHAD Industries Will Be Demonstrating Flexible Feeding and Insertion of Odd Form Components at the IPC APEX Conference and Exhibition

ANAHEIM, CA--(Marketwire - March 14, 2011) -  CHAD Industries, Inc., a leading supplier of odd form placement equipment, will be demonstrating the insertion of relays presented by an Adept AnyFeeder and located with AdeptSight vision.

CHAD has provided odd form insertion systems to the market for 25 years and has developed standard feeders for many component packaging styles, such as radial taped parts, axial taped parts, parts in plastic tubes, and pins on continuous strip. Parts in bulk generally have had to be fed from a vibratory bowl feeder, which is hard tooled for each particular part. This works well for high volume, low mix applications, however low volume builds with bulk parts were difficult to accommodate.

Flexible feeding offers the capability of presenting a wide variety of components from a single feeder without tooling changes. The Adept AnyFeeder can be incorporated into the CHAD IQ line of workcells to present a variety of components such as connectors and relays. Vision images are used to locate the components for pick-up. Leads can be located with vision-on-the-fly before the part is placed in the circuit board. Flexible feeding opens the door to low volume, high mix applications by reducing the time and cost of changing tooling.

CHAD Industries will be exhibiting this capability at the IPC APEX Conference and Exhibition, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, April 12th - 14th in Booth 2016.
