Chainalytics Increases Transportation Benchmarking Efforts in Canada

Shippers Gain Access to Accurate Freight Costs and Benchmarks

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - Sep 18, 2013) - Chainalytics, a recognized global leader in supply chain consulting, analytics, and market intelligence, announced today that its coverage of Canadian freight movements within the Freight Market Intelligence Consortium has increased significantly. Over the last year, Chainalytics has grown its volume of intra-Canadian and cross-border freight to almost $800 Million. This growth has enhanced the company's ability to accurately identify the cost and service drivers which underlie Canada's freight market.

Since it launched in 2003, the Consortium has become the industry's leading source for freight market insights in North America. Each year, Chainalytics analyzes approximately $20 Billion in freight spend -- across all major industries and modes of transportation -- to help its more than 130 member companies understand current and future market dynamics. The recent addition of several Canada-based shippers has pushed many northern freight corridors past the statistical tipping point, allowing Chainalytics to generate more meaningful benchmarks.

"At Irving Consumer Products, one of our goals is to be recognized for having a 'best of the best' supply chain in our industry," stated Mark Ciotka, Director of Corporate Logistics. "Benchmarking is at the cornerstone of our strategy, because it allows our company to see where we are and make the necessary adjustments to improve our overall performance. For this reason, the decision to join Chainalytics' Freight Market Intelligence Consortium was an easy one. We're confident this information will help us to achieve our goals, to improve service to our customers and lower our costs in Canada and the United States."

In the coming weeks, Chainalytics will announce its plans to further expand the geographic scope of the Freight Market Intelligence Consortium, in part due to its recent acquisition of ROCE Partners.
