Champion Energy Services Joins the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - September 26, 2014) - The Texas Chapter of the ALS Association has received a $2,500 donation from Houston based Champion Energy Services, LLC, a leading retail electricity provider in Texas. The donation was made on behalf of over 50 Champion employees and customers who took the ALS "Ice Bucket Challenge."

Champion employees took the ALS "Ice Bucket Challenge" on Friday, August 22, supporting the ALS Association in fighting Lou Gehrig's Disease, and created an online video to post to the Champion Energy Facebook page. Champion then issued a challenge to customers and FaceBook Fans to perform the Ice Bucket Challenge as well, committing to donate $25 for each participant the posted to their Facebook page.

"By participating in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, Champion employees are directly supporting a great cause," said David Tudor, President and Chief Executive Officer of Champion Energy Services. "We believe that being a Champion means giving back to the community and this is part of our continuing commitment to local organizations."

The "Ice Bucket Challenge" is helping to spread awareness and raise funds in the fight against ALS. Those who are challenged must pour a bucket of ice water over their head or donate to the ALS Association. They subsequently challenge others to perform the challenge too.
