Change of Command Ceremony in the Prairie Region

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwired - Nov. 25, 2014) - Correctional Service Canada

On November 25, 2014, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) held a Change of Command Ceremony in the Prairie Region. This occasion marks the change in command from the outgoing Regional Deputy Commissioner, Elizabeth Van Allen, to the incoming Regional Deputy Commissioner, Peter Linkletter.

The ceremony reinforces the responsibility of leadership in the role of Regional Deputy Commissioner. It represents the symbolic passing of responsibility, authority, and accountability from one correctional leader to another.

"I am honoured to assume the mantle of responsibility to ensure the ongoing safety and security of CSC staff and of offenders within our custody," said Peter Linkletter, Regional Deputy Commissioner. "I look forward to meeting, and learning more, from the members of the Prairie Region CSC team. Working together with our partners and CSC's committed volunteers, we will continue to offer the victims of crime a more effective voice in the criminal justice system. I am confident that the joint efforts of CSC and its partners will effectively help offenders transition from institutional life to the community."

This ceremony is an important tradition for CSC. It reaffirms the incoming leader's pledge to support CSC's mission and to contribute to the safety and security of the public, employees and offenders.
