Changing of the Guard at Canadian Taxpayers Federation

Aaron Wudrick Appointed New Federal Director

OTTAWA, ON and EDMONTON, AB and VICTORIA, BC--(Marketwired - October 22, 2014) - The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Aaron Wudrick as its new Ottawa-based Federal Director.

"We hired Aaron for this role because of his diverse and unique skill set, which makes him well placed to advocate for the priorities of CTF supporters," said CTF President, Troy Lanigan. "We have full confidence in his abilities and are excited to have him on board."

"With a federal election one year away and posturing from political parties at a fever pitch, we are confident Aaron will provide a strong, fiscally-conservative voice for CTF supporters in Ottawa," added CTF Vice President, Communications Scott Hennig.

Wudrick laid out some of the CTF's top priorities for the coming year: "With a balanced budget on the horizon, ensuring surplus dollars go first to debt repayment and second to tax cuts, rather than spending is the first order of business," said Wudrick. "Ongoing negotiations with public sector unions will also directly impact government spending -- not to mention the scandals in that moneypit of unaccountability, the Senate. I'm committed to working to ensure these issues stay at the forefront of public debate."

Mr. Wudrick is a graduate of the University of Waterloo, where he majored in economics and political science, and the University of Western Ontario, where he earned his law degree. He practised as a litigator in his native Kitchener, Ontario for several years and then corporate law with a major international law firm in London, Hong Kong and Abu

Dhabi, before returning to Canada to work with a prominent political consulting firm and lobbyist.

Mr. Wudrick is available for media interviews, speaking engagements and will write bi-weekly commentaries under the Let's Talk Taxes banner. He is also active on Twitter (@awudrick).

Mr. Wudrick replaces Gregory Thomas, who held the position since 2011, and follows in the footsteps of Kevin Gaudet, John Williamson, Walter Robinson and Jason Kenney.

The CTF is Canada's leading non-partisan citizens' advocacy group fighting for lower taxes, less waste and accountable government. Founded in 1990, the CTF has over 84,000 supporters and eight offices across Canada. The CTF is funded by voluntary, non tax-receiptable contributions. The CTF's website is at www.taxpayer.com.
