Chapleau Confirms 85% to 94% Gold Recovery From Preliminary Metallurgical Studies at the Coringa Gold Project, Brazil

CRANBROOK, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 7, 2008) - Chapleau Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:CHI) has received metallurgical results from two composite gold samples from the Coringa Gold Project confirming 85% to 94% gold recovery by gravimetric separation followed by the flotation method. Two composite samples from the Coringa Gold Project were prepared by combining drill core samples: MET (A) and MET (B) with 22.9 and 2.7 ppm Au respectively. Both the samples were tested at SGS Geosol Mineral Laboratory in Belo Horizonte, Brazil for definition of the processing route. Test work included size-by-size analysis as well as gravimetric separation, leaching and flotation.

The preliminary metallurgical test work also confirmed; 82% to 95% recovery of silver (Ag), 83% to 90% recovery of lead (Pb), 87% to 95% recovery of zinc (Zn) and 79% to 94% recovery of copper (Cu) in all flotation tests.
