Charles Dascal of South Motors Donates $25,000 to Support the Humane Society of Greater Miami's Pawpurrazzi

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - January 27, 2011) - The Humane Society of Greater Miami will host Pawpurrazzi and will play host to over 500 of Miami's most well known pet loving philanthropists on March 25th, 2011. The gala starts at 7pm at Jungle Island on Watson Island in Miami, with food, music and activities.

In tough economic times, humans are not the only ones who suffer, so do our furry friends. Approximately 63 percent of households in the U.S. have at least one pet, and when economic hardship strikes, this means one more mouth to feed and all too often, these once family members are being turned over to shelters like the Humane Society of Greater Miami.

Local humanitarian and businessman, Charles Dascal, knows the joy that animals can bring to a life.

"Anyone that's owned a pet can tell you that animals have their own intelligence, their own moods and feelings, and their own unique way of communicating. Once you notice this, it is hard not to build a strong emotional connection with them," said Dascal. "Whether it is a cat fiddling around on your lap in order to find the perfect napping configuration, or a dog excitedly yelping at your arrival, it is impossible to experience those heart-warming moments and not treat them like the dearest friend."

Charles Dascal and wife Fannie are quick to implore the public to get involved with a shelter near them. The Humane Society of Greater Miami is a no-kill shelter which means that any animal at the shelter is there until they find their forever home. They are supported solely by their programs and services, donations and private grants. The donation goes to support these programs and is what draws Charles Dascal to support the Humane Society of Greater Miami through sponsorship of events such as Pawpurrazzi through Dascal owned South Motors and Continental Bank in Miami.

Started in 1956, South Motors has been a staple in the Miami market. As a family-owned business, the South Motors Automotive Group was founded on one simple principle: treat every customer like family.
