Charles Eliasch Graces Hollywood Stage in Upcoming Play As I Like It

HOLLYWOOD, CA--(Marketwire - Dec 7, 2011) - This winter, Charles Eliasch, son of the highly acclaimed Genlux fashion editor, artist and playwright, Amanda Eliasch, returns to play the "Devotee" in his mother's first stage masterpiece, As I Like It. The classically trained thespian steps away from his opera and Shakespearean background and embraces the role of the virtuous pianist in the clever and candid drama. The play will run at the Macha Theatre in West Hollywood from December 29, 2011 through January 15, 2012.

The budding artist Charles Eliasch has immersed himself in the arts, exploring the realms of acting, singing and opera since age 4. At the mere age of 19, this prodigy has already made stage debuts across the world including the U.K., New York, and Hong Kong.

Charles received his education from the prestigious Harrow School in Middlesex, and spent many summers at the Italia Conti Academy and the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, where he prepared for roles in Don Juan, The Wind in the Willows, and The Tempest. He landed his first major role as Ophelia in Hamlet, and then went on to play Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Mr. Spettigue in Charlie's Aunt, Maniac in Accidental Death of an Anarchist, and the Narrator in Stephen Berkoff's The Trial.

After becoming a venerable veteran of the Shakespearean stage, Charles traveled to New York City to pursue opera. The counter tenor turned baritone has received roles including Mephistopheles in Faust, Figaro in The Marriage of Figaro, Father in Hansel and Gretel, Dulcamara in L'Elixir de l'Amour, and Bertarido in Rodelinda. He is currently studying at Mannes College, The New School of Music.

As I Like It is a cheeky drama that envelops the audience, while capturing the highs and lows of the life of the ambitious British intellectual, Amanda Eliasch.

As I Like It will run from December 29, 2011 through January 15, 2012 at the Macha Theatre, 1107 N. Kings Road in West Hollywood, CA on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8:00PM and Sunday at 7:00PM. The finale performance will be Sunday, January 15th at 3:00PM. For tickets, call 323-969-1774, or order online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/210411.
