Charlie Wright Selected as Denver Zoo's New CFO

Wright Brings More Than 20 Years of Finance and Accounting Experience

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - February 06, 2015) - After a nationwide search, Charlie Wright, CPA, CMA, MBA, has been chosen to join Denver Zoo's executive team as Chief Financial Officer. Wright brings more than 20 years of experience in finance and public accounting, including positions at the firm Ernst & Young, Kroenke Sports Enterprises and most recently, Mile High United Way.

Wright spent two years as Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration for Mile High United Way, where he had previously served on its Board of Trustees for 10 years, before coming to the Zoo. Prior to his work there, Wright served as the Vice President of New Business Development for Kroenke Sports Enterprises, specializing in acquisitions, management and strategic planning.

He also spent seven years as Chief Financial Officer for The Kroenke Group, where he oversaw the planning and design of Dick's Sporting Goods Park and the acquisition of the Major League Soccer team, the Colorado Rapids. Wright's other specialties include financial reporting, budgeting, restructuring and reorganization.

In his new role, Wright will lead all finance administration, including budgeting, reporting, forecasting and accounting.

Wright is a Certified Public Accountant who holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in public policy sciences from Duke University.
