Charlotte Soccer Academy Breaks Ground on Athletic Field Development

Future Six-Field OrthoCarolina Sportsplex to Feature Hellas' Synthetic Matrix Turf

PINEVILLE, NC--(Marketwired - May 13, 2014) - On Friday, May 9, 2014, the Charlotte Soccer Academy held a Groundbreaking event at the future site of the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex in Pineville, North Carolina. The event included appearances by Charlotte Soccer Academy members, players, families and community supporters. Representatives for sponsors such as Coca-Cola and Adidas were also in attendance.

Brad Wylde, Executive Director of Charlotte Soccer Academy, expressed his excitement for the event and was grateful for the prominent turnout.

The OrthoCarolina Sportsplex will be designed and managed by Beaufort Design Build, LLC and Samet Corporation, both of which will be working closely with Carolina Sportsplex and the Charlotte Soccer Academy (CSA). The future site, which will be the permanent home of the CSA, will feature four synthetic turf fields, one Premiership Turf field and one natural grass Premiership Turf field. The synthetic surfaces will feature Hellas Construction's Matrix Turf, a product line recognized for its great combination of properties for light deflection, system stability and enhanced playability.
