Charlotte's aro Creates Event for 50-Plus Market

Two Nationally Recognized Keynotes; 10 Presentations/Workshops

CHARLOTTE, NC--(Marketwire - September 17, 2008) - It's been nearly a year in the planning; but it's almost here. In October, the Charlotte area will benefit from a unique inspirational and educational event that will attract and impact the 50-plus audience as they seek the best possible quality of life in their "prime time" years. On October 17, Charlotte's aro presents: Living in Prime Time.

The Renaissance Charlotte SouthPark is the setting for this one-of-a-kind event featuring regional and national experts on topics relating to the second half of life. This power-packed day includes breakfast and lunch keynote speakers, workshops and panel discussions, all designed to incorporate humor, inspiration and education on hot topics for this 50-and-over demographic.

"This is an event that is born out of my own experience," comments aro President Chuck Robbins, who is 59 and dealing with many new life experiences. This year's event is an expansion of aro's April 2007 breakfast event featuring nationally known Elder Law Attorney Tim Takacs. Attendees this year will enjoy a full day that covers topics that highlight the possibilities of life in "prime time."

To handle tough questions on planning for retirement and care options, Timothy Takacs will again be on hand for the breakfast keynote, presenting "Ten Survival Tips for Boomers and Their Parents." Morning workshop attendees will further benefit from the wit and wisdom of Julie Hall, "The Estate Lady," sharing from her book, "The Boomer Burden: Dealing with Your Parent's Lifetime Accumulation of Stuff." A panel discussion on the topic of Consumer Protection will include members of the BBB, AARP, and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. A workshop on "second careers" will inspire those looking for an alternative to traditional retirement.

Nationally known physician, medical correspondent, popular author and speaker Kevin Soden, MD, MPH will entertain and inform attendees during the lunch hour. Soden will speak on the topic, "Laughing Your Way to a Better You." Still other presentations will focus on quality of life topics. Personal celebrity chef Terri McClernon, "The Food Fairy," will discuss eating better to live better; Tim Burke of Christian Tours will challenge attendees to meet new people and visit new destinations; and those looking for that just right home for their lifestyle can take advantage of a panel discussion on the topic of housing.

This event will bring together many sought-after speakers and experts in their fields, together with informational booths for organizations and business sponsors. Sponsors include: The Estate and Elder Law Firm of Vandiver & Bryan, The Brian Center, Sunrise Senior Living, The Estate Lady, Hospice and Palliative Care - Charlotte Region, Alzheimer's Association, Carriage Club of Charlotte, Caregiving Corner, LLC, and Andrea R Hutto RD, LDN, CDE.
