Chaudiere Crossing-Sidewalk and Lane Reductions


GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 16, 2015) - Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) wishes to advise the public of periodic sidewalk and lane reductions on the Chaudiere Crossing.

Weekday reductions for Gatineau- and Ottawa-bound lanes:

  • Wednesday, June 17, and Thursday, June 18, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day;
  • One northbound and one southbound lane will remain accessible. One lane will be open on Union Bridge, with flag persons controlling the flow of traffic. Motorists can expect short delays.

Weekend reductions for Gatineau- and Ottawa-bound lanes and sidewalks:

  • Saturday, June 20, and Sunday, June 21, 2015, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day;
  • Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28, 2015, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day;
  • Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5, 2015, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day;
  • One northbound and one southbound lane will remain open at all times;
  • The west and east sidewalks may be temporarily reduced. Pedestrians and cyclists will be re-routed to the opposite sidewalk, if necessary.

These reductions are necessary to conduct general maintenance on the bridge.

The schedule may change due to weather conditions.
