"CHAZ_MAN_C" Wins $136,177.60 and the Championship Title in a Four-Way Chop as the UBOC5 $1 Million GTD Monster Stack NLH Winds Up

1,032 Players Registered Creating a $1,032,000 Prize Pool, and the Final Four Players Sealed a Deal That Saw Them Share in $528,177.60 of the Money Up for Grabs in the UBOC5 Championship Grand Finale

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - August 30, 2010) -  Online poker site wrapped its 12-day UBOC schedule yesterday in super exciting style, welcoming 1,032 players to the UBOC Championship $1,000+50 buy-in event, hosted by legend of the game, Phil Hellmuth. With a $1,032,000 prize pool on the table, the battle for the Championship title promised to be fierce from the outset, and proved a fitting finale to this year's summer UBOC online series.

"Normally I don't get excited when I finish in 716th place in a tournament with over a thousand players, but every second of the UBOC $1 million Championship tournament was just so good," said Team UB's Phil Hellmuth. "I mean with a prize pool over a million bucks and a final table that made four players very rich, every second of this thing was gripping."

The UBOC Championship No Limit Hold'em event kicked off on Sunday, August 29th at 16:00 ET. A long 12 hours and 36 minutes after the first shuffle-up-and-deal was called, online poker player CHAZ_MAN_C claimed the UBOC Championship title, $136,177.60 in prize money after the chop, and the limited edition UBOC Championship watch.

The story could quite easily have had a different ending, or rather four of them, truth be told. At an earlier point of the final table, the last four players paused to agree on an equitable chop (based on chip counts) of the remaining $528,177.60 prize money. After some deliberation, a deal was set, and play resumed.

One thing that's sure about the game of poker is its unpredictability. As fate decreed, the two players VENUSIGNA and WALLABAER -- who held the most chips four-handed and banked the highest prize money, did not go on to make the final two. WALLABAER was the first to go, after he tangled with VENUSIGNA, losing a big pot with A-K to VENUSIGNA's pocket nines. The loss crippled him, and he was eliminated in 4th place for $145,000 in the very next hand. An ironic twist saw VENUSIGNA sent packing, when CHAZ_MAN_C's own Ah-Kh held up against VENUSIGNA's pocket sixes; he was able to console himself with the sweet $152,000 he walked away with, making him the highest paid player in this tourney, despite his 3rd place finish.

Heads Up play came down to CHAZ_MAN_C versus TOOCURIOUSSO with the final hand seeing CHAZ_MAN_C raise to 4,200,000. TOOCURIOUSSO immediately moved All-in with his remaining 988,720 chips. The Flop came 3d-Js-6s, and the Turn brought the Qd, connecting with CHAZ_MAN_C, with the River delivering the 5d. CHAZ_MAN_C showed the 2s-Qs, with his pair of Queens holding up against TOOCURIOUSSO's 9c-Kd King high, and the Championship title, the commemorative UBOC watch and $136,177.60 was shipped to our newly crowned summer UBOC Champion, CHAZ_MAN_C.
