Chef Cary Neff Brings Great Taste, Good Sense to Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD--(Marketwire - December 15, 2008) - Chef Cary Neff, author of The New York Times best-selling cookbook "Conscious Cuisine®," is bringing his special focus on great taste and good sense to Baltimore when he visits Franklin Square Hospital Center's All Spice Café from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16, as part of the national debut of a new culinary concept called "Flavors 450."

Chef Neff, a culinary talent who Oprah Winfrey says does "amazing things with nutritious food," has partnered with Morrison Healthcare Food Services ( in an effort to help people rediscover what hospital food can offer -- menu items full of rich textures and intense flavors yet still healthy. In collaboration with Morrison executive chefs, he has created a carefully crafted menu featuring an array of more than 60 rotating recipes -- each under 450 calories.

Chef Neff revolutionized healthy cooking when he introduced the internationally acclaimed Conscious Cuisine®, based on the premise that nutritious eating can be rich and flavorful, not bland and boring. By incorporating readily available ingredients into his recipes and using fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables, he provides flavor along with optimal nutrition. The new Flavors 450 menu was designed specifically for Morrison Healthcare Food Services, which manages Franklin Square's food-service operations. Morrison will unveil Flavors 450 at three Baltimore-area MedStar Health hospitals this month: Franklin Square Hospital Center, Union Memorial Hospital and Harbor Hospital.
