Chef Sandi Richard Partners With Compassion Canada on National Tour

Food Network host to share her passion for children and families living in poverty

LONDON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 15, 2012) - Chef, TV personality and international best-selling author Sandi Richard is partnering with Compassion Canada on her national tour starting in Ontario this fall.

"I'm honoured to speak about the great work Compassion does to make a real difference in the lives of children and families every day," Richard says.

As the creator and host of the reality series Fixing Dinner, Richard rescues families from mealtime mayhem. Each episode, she helps a different family organize their kitchen and their lives so they can gather at the dinner table every weeknight.

Fixing Dinner appears on Food Network Canada, American Life TV and Discovery Asia. Richard also hosts Let's Do Lunch and has written seven books in her Cooking for the Rushed series.

On tour, Richard will share her simple yet life-changing strategies for making family mealtime a reality. Her speaking style is engaging, fun and interactive. Each event will feature a live cook-off and Richard's three-step plan to change dinnertime forever, as well as a short video from her trip to El Salvador with Compassion in August.

Compassion's Leroy Harder says, "I had the privilege of working with Sandi and her husband Ron in El Salvador, and seeing how her passion for families lines up with Compassion's work around the world with children and families living in poverty. We are thrilled to be working with Sandi and her team."

Richard began searching for meal planning solutions two decades ago as the mother of seven children. Now, she is a frequent guest on CBC radio and has appeared on Food Network U.S. as well as NBC's Today Show. She contributes to several magazines, including Reader's Digest, Eat Clean, Woman's World and First for Women.

Tickets are $10 per person, available at or locally at Christian retailers and churches. For tour locations, dates and details, visit
