ChemSight™ Chemical Detector Introduced at Pittcon Conference March 3, 2008 in New Orleans

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA--(Marketwire - February 28, 2008) - Avir Sensors will debut ChemSight™, a multi-chemical detector with features unique in today's market, at the 59th Pittsburgh Conference March 3-6, 2008 in New Orleans, LA. ChemSight™ can be seen in booth 4558.

The ChemSight™ detector is a continuously operating, open-path detector that uses infrared spectroscopy. It reliably monitors long lines of sight and detects and identifies multiple chemicals and interferants within seconds.

"ChemSight™ is a fast, flexible, low cost and low maintenance life-saving technology. ChemSight™ quickly empowers safety officers with critical information to assess what's happening so they can determine what to do in a timeframe that saves lives," said Dean M. Johnson, president of Avir Sensors.

ChemSight™ recognizes most Toxic Industrial Chemicals (TICs), Toxic Industrial Materials (TIMs) and Chemical Warfare Agents (CWAs), and has broad application in the industrial, military and homeland security markets.

Unique ChemSight™ features include:

-- Rapid detection and identification of multiple chemical compounds.
Detection and identification in as little as one second
-- No consumables make it a zero to low maintenance detector
-- No coolants or refrigeration required, reducing purchase and
    maintenance costs
-- Large coverage area with long line of sight; non-contact chemical
-- Utilizes an expandable and customizable chemical compounds library
-- Site Protector™ software provides real-time, stand-alone view of
potential threats and can integrate with standard security systems and
    building management software

The ChemSight™ detector is particularly suitable to monitor large infrastructure or industrial facilities, both indoor and outdoor. Applications include subway platforms, stadiums, military installations, schools, airports, HVAC systems, perimeters, and industrial plants ranging from petrochemical to food processing.

ChemSight™ was developed by Avir Sensors, a leading manufacturer of hazardous gas detection equipment for homeland security, industry and the military headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia. The research and development of ChemSight™ was supported by the United States Technical Support Working Group (TSWG) with funding from the Department of Homeland Security.
