Chester Community Charter School Students to Participate in National School Choice Week

Pennsylvania's Largest K-8 Charter School to Host "Kick-Off" Pep Rally, Introduce Mentorship Initiative

CHESTER, PA--(Marketwired - January 22, 2015) - More than 3,000 students of Chester Community Charter School (CCCS), Pennsylvania's largest K-8 charter school, along with administrators, faculty and staff, will take part in National School Choice Week (NSCW), from January 26 through January 30, on the school's East, West and Upland campus. NSCW is a national and international, non-partisan, non-political public awareness effort that promotes the need for effective education options for all students. This year, CCCS will host activities such as a "kick-off' pep rally, an arts and crafts day, award ceremonies, and a Parent Open House, among other events.

During the program, CCCS will honor its outstanding students with a series of honor roll, perfect attendance and "Student of the Month" award ceremonies. Students will also participate in arts and crafts activities, while faculty and staff will perform an "edutainment" skit for students, on the school's East campus.

In addition, Chester Community Charter School, West Campus will introduce its "Boys to Men Leadership Academy," a mentorship initiative for male students in sixth-through-eighth grades. The program is designed to motivate, inspire and encourage students to become leaders and trailblazers at their school, and in their community.

As an additional student/family benefit during the week, Philadelphia-based, non-profit dental center, Kids Smile, will provide free dental screenings for kindergarteners and first-graders.
