Chester Community Charter School to Graduate More Than 200 Eighth-Graders

Fifty Members of the Class of 2014 to Receive More Than $1 Million in Scholarships, Grants, and Financial Aid to Attend Prestigious High Schools

WHAT: Chester, PA., June 11, 2014 - On Wednesday, June 11th, and Thursday, June 12th, 118 and 98 eighth-grade students will graduate, respectively, from the east and west campuses of Chester Community Charter School (CCCS), Pennsylvania's largest K-8 charter school. More than 650 parents, administrators, faculty, and community members are expected to attend each commencement ceremony, held at the Clarion Hotel, in Essington, PA.

Approximately 50 students have received scholarships, grants, and/or financial aid awards, totaling more than $1 million from the following private and parochial schools: Cardinal O'Hara High School, Springfield Township, PA; Archbishop John Carroll High School, Radnor Township, PA; St. Joseph's Preparatory High School, Philadelphia, PA; The Milton Hershey School, Hershey, PA; West Nottingham Academy, Colora, MD; St. Elizabeth High School, Wilmington, DE; Salesianum School, Wilmington, DE; Archmere Academy, Claymont, DE; and Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti Catholic High School, Philadelphia, PA.

Autumn Brown, valedictorian, T'Kel Brown, CCCS student since kindergarten, and Mika Reed, CCCS alumna and rising senior at Neumann College, will serve as keynote speakers, at the east campus commencement ceremony. At the west campus ceremony, keynote speakers include Endiyah Coleman, valedictorian; Kylair Blackston and Brion Hammond, class representatives; and Jeffrey Driggins and Nicholas Benozich, CCCS alumni.
