Chevrolet-Buick-GMC-Cadillac September Sales

OSHAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 3, 2011) - In September, General Motors' dealers delivered 16,799 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. The Chevrolet Cruze, Canadian Car of the Year, continues to win new customers and is Chevrolet's best-selling car.

"While September came in below prior year results, GM and its dealers anticipate a significant rebound as we gear up for the biggest launch in Chevrolet Canada's history," said Marc Comeau, vice-president of sales, service and marketing at GM of Canada. "Today marks the launch of the highly-anticipated all-new 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, Orlando and Volt and they are expected to play a strong role in Chevrolet's line up moving forward."

September 2011 Key Facts and Brand Results

  • Chevrolet delivered the first 143 Chevrolet Volts to Canadian customers in September. The Canadian-built Chevrolet Equinox sales increased 16.5 per cent for the month

  • Buick Regal Sport Sedan, winner of AJAC's Best New Family Car (over $30,000), sales were up 96 per cent

  • GMC Terrain sales were up 16.9 per cent over September last year, and total sales were up 13.6 per cent. The GMC Terrain is a Consumers Digest Best Buy and is proudly built in Canada

  • Cadillac sales increased 2 per cent for the month and the SRX sales momentum continues with a 10.8 per cent increase in September

Total GM sales (including discontinued brands) decreased by 6.1 per cent compared to last September.
